For over 30 years, both locals and tourists have joined Opplev Oppdal's experienced guides for rafting on the Driva river! Whether you're a beginner or have some rafting experience, we offer something for everyone. Bring your family, friends, colleagues, or school class for a wet and wild adventure.

Opplev Oppdal offers three different levels of rafting tours, as well as river rescue courses for the experienced:

Children’s and Family Tour:

Distance: About 4 km

Duration: Approximately 2.5 - 3 hours

Age Suitability: Best for children aged 6-13 years, with a minimum height of 116 cm. Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

Meeting Point: Rafting center at Villmarksleiren. Guests will change in the locker rooms, receive a safety briefing, and paddle training. Participants get to test the waters right at the start. The children can challenge themselves as they wish and experience the thrill of the activity. The tour begins with relatively calm rapids and open sections through the beautiful Drivdalen valley. If the water level allows, cliff jumping at Jumprock is a popular highlight that gives the kids a thrilling experience. Swimming is also an option, depending on participant wishes and water conditions. The most significant rapids are saved for the end of the tour once everyone is familiar with the water. Participants will be transported back to the rafting center after the tour, where shower facilities are available.

Standard Tour:

Difficulty: Rated 3-4 out of 6 on the international river rating scale!

Distance: About 14 km

Duration: Approximately 3 hours

Age Suitability: Minimum age is 15 years, varying with water levels. In June, during higher water levels, the minimum age is 18 years, with a difficulty rating of 4+. With lower water levels in late July and onward, the difficulty decreases to 3, and the minimum age drops to 12 years.

Meeting Point: Rafting center at Villmarksleiren. Guests will change in the locker rooms, receive a safety briefing, and paddle training. This varied and exciting tour is suitable for most adults. The trip starts calmly but soon features a series of rapids like Pyramid Rock, Hakka, Ålmadroppet, Haikjeften, Brukarene, Vengavoll, Gamma Rapids, S-Curve, Bruhølen, Gydasteinen, Flip Hole, and finally Anne's Rapids. These rapids have names based on stories and characters from past rafting trips. There’s also an opportunity to jump into the river from a cliff. The guides expertly adjust the excitement level according to the participants' preferences. Participants will be transported back to the rafting center after the tour, where shower facilities are available.

Ultimate Rafting Tour for the Experienced:

Difficulty: Rated 4-5 out of 6 on the international river rating scale.

Duration: Approximately 6 hours

Age Suitability: Minimum age is 18 years. Maximum 8 participants per departure. This is considered a full-day tour. Participants must have previous rafting experience, be strong swimmers, and be in good health. The tour runs from Ishoel to Liahjell and features rapids of varying character and high difficulty. The entrance to Storfallet resembles a scene from "The Lord of the Rings," and it’s just the beginning. This stretch includes several challenging rapids that are both technically and physically demanding. Gråurajuvet is deep, driven by strong currents, remote, and offers a raw natural experience unlike any other.

River Rescue Course: Opplev Oppdal is a certified provider of river rescue courses in collaboration with the International Rescue Instructors Alliance (IRIA). We offer courses at both level 2 and 3. These courses follow international standards based on knowledge and experience and are valuable in many contexts, ensuring the safety of you and your team.
